Le Carmen
Found in the one of Paris’ most beautiful and historic venues is one of the city’s hippest clubs, Le Carmen. This is where Georges Bizet wrote his most famous opera, hence the name. The space made up of multiple salons complete with ornate plasterwork, high ceilings, gilded columns, Louis XV furniture, elegantly carved caryatids and human-sized bird cage surround clubbers who keep the party going until dawn. When it opened in 1875 it served as an elite brothel and ever since it has had an air of mystery. Le Carmen is much in demand for a whole heap of private parties from high-profile DJ sets to fashion week after parties the jeunesse doree keep coming back, and if you want to join them you’re going to have to pass muster.
