Basically, Point Ephémère is a big concrete box by the canal where a lot of really cool things happen. It’s very fringe, very 10th arrondissement, run by a collective whose mission is to reclaim disused industrial sites and inject creativity. This club/gallery/restaurant incorporates artists’ studios, recording facilities, workshops and a dance studio. The passing hedonist is most likely to be lured in by the canalside bar and terrace for a summertime beer, and to hang out with local hipsters by night, when a devotedly open-minded music policy means no tripe, guaranteed. The former builder’s merchant opened in 2004 as a temporary venue, hence the name. Happily, it has become a fixture.
