The neon-lit discotheque formerly known as Triptyque, Social Club has been reincarnated as an, ahem, social club for the nu-rave generation. A cool-looking, friendly, daft-dancing crowd piles onto the heaving dancefloor to wiggle to Madonna, Prince and Bobby Brown; there’s seating down the other end of the L-shaped basement, where you can just about converse, or sit and watch the parade of high-fiving youth. In tune with the MySpace generation, there are lots of electro nights, as well as parties where you don’t have to queue if you come dressed as a superhero. A great pitstop on the Grands Boulevards nightlife trail, where you’re very likely to have lots of fun. Look out for DJ sets from Simian Mobile Disco, Scratch Perverts, and turns from the likes of Afrika Bambaata and Grandmaster Flash.
