Ritz Paris

The Ritz stands in the heart of Paris within the elegant place Vendôme. The hotel is famous not only for its position as Paris’s leading hotel for generations, but also for its guests: F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway (giving his name to the famous bar) and, fatefully, Dodi and Diana have all passed through the Ritz’s revolving doors. Coco Chanel made it her principal residence from 1934 till her death in 1971, a fact celebrated by the traditional Fashion Week soirées that take place here. Gastronomic delights are served up at the Espadon restaurant, while a famous people-spotting brunch is taken to the tune of a piano in the César Ritzy Salon. The Ritz’s very own Escoffier cooking school teaches professional chefs and amateur enthusiasts alike how to cook like the master; and for the more light-hearted – and lonely – one Friday a month is given over to the ‘Ritzy Rendez-vous’ (cooking lessons for singles: saucy!). The spa’s beauty salon offers nothing less than La Prairie products for both men and women. A palm-tree staircase descends to the fabulous Grecian pool, surrounded by columns and coupled with a convenient bar. Sip cocktails in your facemask wearing nothing but your Ritz bathrobe, and feel like you’re a member of the Carrington/Colby dynasty.
