6 Paul Bert
Not content with just his one restaurant, the wildly popular Bistro Paul Bert, on rue Paul Bert in Paris’s 11th arrondissement, restaurateur Bertrand Auboyneau opened 6 Paul Bert, named with equal inspiration, at the end of 2012.
Yet already, this restaurant has appeared to surpass his earlier effort. Chef Louis-Phillipe’s refined plates of food, consisting of various textures and seasonal vegetables, are attracting revellers from all over the city. Regulars are kept happy too, by the fact that the menu is changed every day.
Inside, salivating smells rise from the open kitchen and you cannot fail to notice the little charcuterie in the entrance. A large, zinc bar immediately draws attention. Lamps crafted from forks, spoons and wine bottles hang above, and large mirrors adorn the walls. It bears the appearance of a modern, French bistro, but the ambiance and quality of the food elevates 6 Paul Bert above most of the competition.
