Au Passage
One for easygoing tapas lovers, Au Passage serves up healthy portions with even healthier glasses of wine.
It’s always a good sign if locals frequent a restaurant, and Au Passage is a prime example of a small, casual French bistro with a hearty Parisian following. Always packed to the rafters and alive with chatter, this Le Fooding-approved bistro is a destination in the 11e for its range of tapas-style dishes and sharing plates (try the cured sausage and pork rillette, or the poitrine d’agneau with choux fleur and radis noir). Staffers are friendly but understandably rushed, so hunker down with friends and order a few bottles of wine while waiting for your numerous plates to arrive. For an array of flavours at reasonable prices in a casual setting Au Passage is unbeatable. Just make sure to book if you want a table, or take a seat at the bar – you’re closer to the wine there anyway.
