Cinéma du Panthéon | Salon du thé
The oldest existing cinema in Paris, this seemingly non-descript venue located on a small side street just off Place de la Sorbonne is actually a popular Parisian haunt. Film buffs queue up like there was a red-carpet for the Latin Quarter theatre’s premieres of French films and subtitled indie flicks. Aside from the film programming, the venue’s other highlight is the salon du thé above the theatre. Designed and decorated by Catherine Deneuve, this comfy, well-lit tearoom with a mini-terrace serves afternoon tea and a selection of very good salads and light mains. One of us actually lived next door before discovering this spot—a genuine hidden hideout.
