Maison de la Photographie
Occupying a renovated and extended 17th-century mansion, the Maison Europene de la Photographie is probably the number-one photography gallery and exhibition space in the city, owing to its amazing 15,000-strong collections alone. The space is spread over three floors and comprises an exhibition centre, library and auditorium, as well as a bookshop and cafe. All styles, from reportage to fashion photography, are well represented; the last few years have seen shows on Martin Parr, Orlan, China, Jean Baudrillard, William Klein, Annie Leibowitz and Henri Cartier-Bresson, usually accompanied by film screenings and/or publications. The MEP also organises the biennial Mois de la Photo festival.
