One of the grandes dames of the city’s burgeoning nightlife scene, and also one of the three premier cocktail bars in Prague, Bugsy’s has lost some of its legendary exclusivity as nearby competitors have opened up. This location still pulls in the crowds, however, especially after a recent renovation pushed it forwards in terms of décor, style and feel.

The 1950s themes have been toned down, but the award-winning bartenders still sport bow ties and braces and the disproportionately long bar is home to more liquor than you’re likely to see in a while.

rnBugsy’s also still makes some of the best cocktails in town and the location is great – since it’s just a few steps from the seriously expensive and fashionable shops of Parizská, the smart and the fashionable tend to drop by for an early evening aperitif while businessmen, locals and affluent tourists sup to the sounds of live music later on. At weekends, Bugsy’s is almost always busy, so arrive early to get a good seat.
