Parnas is an authentic Czech restaurant in Prague, sister to the famous Café Slavia next door (see Snack), and situated in a similarly magnificent Art Deco room with wonderfully ornate wood-panelled walls, stone floors and superb views across the river and up towards the Castle.
rnThe Czech menu concentrates on meat and game, with the rabbit and goulash particularly hard to beat for taste. The Czech wine list complements the food, but some more established tipples are on offer for those a little unsure of the local viniculture.
rnA pianist in the corner helps personalize the atmosphere, making it worth the trip just to experience the wonderful evening ambience. It’s just a stone’s throw from the National Theatre, too, so consider this for a pre- or post-opera dinner.
