Acanto Day Spa
Acanto is behind the Pantheon and adjoins the Caffè Universale. Inside it is like a Roman spa of old, with exposed brickwork, classical arches, the soothing sounds of running water and luxuriant treatments fit for an emperor. This is contrasted with futuristic lighting and 21st-century treatments (such as floating colour therapy).
Aside from the exquisitely sumptuous hammam, there are areas for manicures and pedicures, reflexology and facials, and a relaxation zone to bliss out with a herbal tea post-treatment. For 400 euros couples can enjoy a Turkish bath strewn with rose petals, a cocktail and 90-minute massage each. Sheer romantic indulgence.
