Hg2 : The Hedonist

Toronado

With over 100 connoisseur-grade beers on tap, sourced not just from the USA but the beer meccas of Belgium and Germany, Toronado is one of the best pubs in San Francisco. A wide ranging crowd gather together, united in their love for beer, to sip on brews ranging from the ironically named ‘Terrible’ (alcohol volume 10.5%, the strongest on the list) to ‘Pliny the Elder’, the ‘Blind Pig’ and ‘Bony Fingers’. Not quite a pint of Stella Artois with some pork scratchings then at this inspired pub. The perfect time to arrive is before the rush at 6pm, then to spend the night enjoying the draught list before a final bratwurst to soak it all up at the Rosamunde Sausage Grill (545 Haight Street, +1 415 437 6851) next door. Beer and Wurst at Toronado: a true German experience in the centre of San Francisco.
