supperclub San Francisco
Born in Amsterdam and raised in Rome, supperclub is the most sublimely over-the-top of all San Francisco restaurants, a rare, entertaining blend of techno-chic décor and Burning Man theatrics, attracting a crowd of daring young hotties in fashion-forward attire. There is only one seating each night, on plush white beds in La Salle Neige (The Snow Room). The menu is a surprise and always five courses. Drag queens, acrobats, and other exotics perform as well as serve, and a DJ works the evening. For weekend reservations, call as far in advance as possible, and check to see if there is a theme the night you’re there. You wouldn’t want to miss a chance to eat dinner in your favourite white bikini (or bikini briefs). It’s sort of like ordering room service and eating in bed, only there are lots of other people there and instead of pay per view you get to watch a trapeze artist. The two-tier theater-like setting is done in white on white, making it easy to see your five-course set meal. Sexy people lounge on beds, and later do their sexy-people dance late into the night.Don’t mess up the décor with your sports shorts and Reeboks. This is theater for people who take their pleasure seriously. Play the part in your most outrageously sexy attire. Think Bond, James Bond. Or else Prada, Miuccia Prada. Not particularly your usual restaurant then.
