Hg2 : The Hedonist

Café de la Presse

The French love San Francisco, and Café de Le Presse is the result of a love affair; a top spot for dining out in San Francisco. For more than a decade, Café de la Presse has been the hub of their stomping grounds, and a good cafe to unwind in after a stressful trip to the French Consulate, more or less across the street. With Aqua chef Laurent Manrique in charge of the croque monsieurs and moules frites, the menu has improved in recent years. But pick up a copy of the International Herald Tribune or L’Uomo Vogue-the service, like the French, is laissez-faire. Like other nearby Frenchy hangouts, namely Café Claude and Café Bastille, Café de la Presse is a great place to meet sultry-accented visitors.
