Restaurateur Pat Kuleto knows a thing or two about high drama and seafood restaurant Waterbar brings this theatricality to dining out in San Francisco. In an homage to all things under the sea, two floor-to-ceiling aquariums draw “oohs” and “aaahs” from diners, who are a mix of well-heeled locals and visitors. Waterbar’s incredible view of the Bay Bridge doesn’t hurt matters, either. Chef Parke Ulrich has the touch when it comes to seafood. Witness a restrained sashimi of sea scallops with sweet potato, smoked salt and paprika oil, or a hearty petrale sole with potato-onion hash, bacon, and brown butter.
