This is one of the most attractive sights in San Francisco. Despite the expansive view of Golden Gate Bridge and Marin, the mile and a half or so of waterfront strolling, the beach, the windsurfing, and the fantastic people-watching, the best thing about Crissy Field Park is actually the parking. Drive right up, get right out, don’t even touch your wallet. And there are even clean bathrooms. What other tourist-worthy destination can say as much? There are warm, sunny days at Crissy Field, but usually it’s cold and sunny, and often freezing cold and foggy, and almost always breezy. Regardless, it is always overwhelmingly beautiful. You must make the walk to Fort Point at the foot of the bridge-where Madeleine threw herself into the waves in Vertigo.
