Presidio Golf Course
One of the oldest golf courses in San Francisco and indeed on the whole West Coast, the Presidio Golf Course is also one of its most handsome, renowned for its spectacular views and 100-year-old eucalyptus and pine forest. Once restricted to military officers and members of a private club, it became part of the Presidio National Park in 1995 and was opened to the public. Now, for next to nothing, you can golf where Teddy Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower played. Colourful Victorians pop up in the distance and wisps of fog slink in from the nearby shore. It’s hard to imagine a prettier setting. The clubhouse offers excellent California cuisine for lunch Monday through Saturday and Sunday brunch.
