With its black walls, black-clad staff, black leather sofas and smooth concrete floors, Nox could be dropped into any major city in the world and immediately grab the attention and patronage of a suitably fashionable black-clad crowd. It’s certainly one of the more self-consciously stylish bars in Stockholm, and further enhances Grev Turegatan’s reputation as one of the hippest streets for food and drink.
The bar area is upstairs while food is served downstairs. The food menu is short and simple, and won’t surprise anyone who spends some time in Stockholm. The dishes on offer – beef ‘Rydberg’, tuna fish with Thai vegetables, tiger prawns with tagliatelle – are the sort of things you’ll find at many bars, but they’re expertly done. Best of all, when it’s warm enough they open a large outdoor lounge in the inner courtyard of the building.
