Hg2 : The Hedonist

A Hedonist’s guide to…

Stockholm

Sturekatten
Expect traditional cakes, antique furnishings, and several steep staircases. Sturekatten is refreshingly old-fashioned, in an area that is obsessed with the latest style.
Stureplan
Located in archly cool Ostermalm, this debutante hotel is stylishly decorated, with a wonderful restaurant, bar and the most exclusive spa in the city.
Supper Garden
Supper Garden draws visitors from around Stockholm when it opens for the summer, offering Southern American tapas-style dishes and knock-out cocktails.
Swedish Drinks: The New Cocktail Trend
Swimming
Swimming is about the easiest sporting or pseudo-sporting activity you can do in Istanbul. All the large hotels (Hyatt Regency, Hilton, Carlton, etc) have pools of one sort or another. These, however, are the best:
T Bar
One of the few places that serves a good weekend brunch, and also afternoon tea. The view from the front, over the water, is great. A mixed crowd of visitors and locals. Sadly, service can be patchy.
Tabac
The high leather stools mean that this is definitely not a place to come and slouch over a coffee or read a book ‰ÛÒ it's more about the quick succession of tapas and drinks (possibly even shots if it's come to that), while perching, in the midst of ra
Teatergrillen
Teatergrillen, located close to the thespian world of Stockholm, treasures the performing arts and has made them into its primary motif. The backstreet location means the clientele have come looking for it as opposed to simply dropping in off Sturepl

The Royal Palace
Exercise your imagination. A visit to the austere, handsome buildings of the Royal Palace will be a worthy diversion but be aware that it could end up a rather lengthy one unless discipline is imposed...
The Victory
A curious mix of ancient and modern, the Victory is the smartest of a trio of historic hotels in the Old Town. The restaurant, Lejontornet, is ranked as one of the best in Stockholm.
The Wall
A club within the legendary nightclub complex, Sturecompagniet, The Wall is the courtyard playground of Stockholm’s young, rich and beautiful.
The White Room
Whilst the White Room might look more like a restaurant than a club don't be deceived - the party really kicks off at about 3am. Located just a short walk from the Stureplan and Birger Jarlsgatan try East for dinner and drinks beforehand.
Thielska Galleriet
Fabulous Art Nouveau building originally a private home and now a public gallery displaying an unusual collection comprising Edvard Munch and Carl Larsson among other notable painters...
Tranan
This Odenplan favourite is crowded all weekend with everyone from students to retirees. For herring or meatballs, it's a good choice. In sharp countrast to the bistro upstairs, the bar downstairs is fiercely fashionable, and pulls in a younger crowd
Tranan
Tures
Tures sits at the entrance to the trendy little mall that connects Grev Turegatan to Stureplan. It's a splendid spot to sit and watch people go by. Extremely busy on Saturday lunchtime and afternoon.
Tvillingarnas
Yes, the location is great: By the bridge to Djurgården, floating on the water so you can watch boats chug by. But be warned that on a warm day it can be very, very busy.
V Cocktail
A cocktail bar within a club at one of Stockholm’s most exciting nightclub complexes, V Cocktail is known for its sleek surrounds and creative drinks.
Vasamuseet
Vasa is not just for nautical buffs and will be a certain winner with the kids and older generations alike. Just be aware that in this museum, you will not be alone...
Vassa Eggen
In a way, Vassa Eggen shouldn't be this good. It's close to hip Stureplan, and has a wildly fashionable interior and a clientele to match, so to find that the food is so good comes as something of a pleasant surprise.
Vetekatten
It's good to be reminded sometimes that not all Stockholm cafes are minimalist places with plain wooden tables and exactly the same sandwiches. This is the closest thing Stockholm has to a grand cafe. It's not, in truth, that grand, but it is charmin
Villa Källhagen
It's only minutes from the centre by cab, but you feel like you are in the countryside at this pleasant and modern hotel. Due to its conference facilities and location it's popular with business travelers.
Walking and Hiking
Whether you fancy a brisk walk or a hike that makes you wish you were dead, check out the lush green areas around your hotel. Fresh air never smelt so good.
Wedholms Fisk
When you feel like splurging on some really great seafood, Wedholms is the place to go. The room is classically Swedish, decorated in shades of grey and cream, service is warm, and the fish is perfect. If you just want a drink, you can perch at the b
