This hip, urban oasis is one of the cafés in Sydney which is hugely popular with the trendy young design students from nearby University of Technology. Step off the street and into the face of a gargantuan blackboard menu of pastries, sandwiches and salads, and friendly staff peeking out behind a coffee machine. There are benches and booths running along the narrow interior with a tiny shaded courtyard to the rear. The coffee is brewed with love – as is the Moroccan tea with fresh mint, cloves and orange peel. Café fare comes in generous portions – think poached eggs and homemade hash browns for breakfast, and for lunch – sandwiches, salads and soups.
