This is one of the cafés in Sydney that has a devote following. Given its location, it’s hardly surprising that Flat White attracts a mix of residents and art-lovers popping in to check out the area’s galleries – including the one upstairs. While it may look ordinary, Flat White has a slew of regulars who keep coming back for the pork sandwich. With its crunchy crackling and crisp apple, chutney and rocket, it’s a blockbuster. It’s only matched somewhat by the seven-hour lamb sandwich, with its sweet caramelised onions and ‘nana’s relish’, a fragrant mix of vinegar, cumin, paprika and mustard powder. There’s another coup – breakfast is served all day long and the fresh juices are delish. Grab some counter space along the open windows and enjoy.
