Bells at Killcare
The mix of two-storey and single-storey cottages set around the main European-style manor house, which contains an award-winning restaurant headed by chef Stefano Manfredi, makes Bells one of the best boutique hotels in Sydney. The cottages are ideal for couples in search of privacy, peace and quiet, with private entries, timber decked balconies, plantation shutters and striking blue and white striped decor. All are equipped with the necessary comforts like supersoft king-sized beds, fireplaces and home-made bath products. Settle in with a good book on the balcony, or wander through the gardens, which feature fishponds, wildflowers and manicured lawns. There are around seven beaches and national parks to explore a short drive away, and if you need some inspiration, the warm, chatty proprietors Brian and Karina Barry are happy to share their local knowledge. Otherwise, stay put on the premises – cooling off in a swimming pool or indulging in a signature massage or facial at the Day Spa, set in a converted two-levelled barn.
