Downstairs, on the ground floor of Diamant, one of the best boutique hotels in Sydney, there’s the classy Time To Vino, a wine bar run by Clint Hillery, one of city’s most respected sommeliers. As for clubbers, you’re less than two blocks away from the centre of the buzzy red light district of Kings Cross, home to the city’s highest concentration of nightclubs. Design-wise, Diamant is sleek, chic and simple – it’s a boutique hotel with a pared-back style; standard rooms are minimal and urban, with chocolate browns and caramel-coloured tones. Deluxe rooms are more spacious, and all rooms cover standard tech-needs with 42-inch plasma televisions and iPod docking stations. The Courtyard rooms have harbour glimpses and private, outdoor courtyards, but for those with cash to flash, try the penthouse suite, which has two balconies, a gourmet kitchen, a master bedroom with a pimping powder room, walk-in wardrobe and spa, and two guest rooms with en-suites. There’s no gym on site, though the concierge can supply you with free passes to Fitness First, located just a block away.
