Amsterdam Pub
Open since 1992, Amsterdam was one of the first and most popular pubs in Tallinn, and justly so. The entire 100-year-old, dark wooden interior was shipped over whole from Holland, preserving intact a gorgeous, perfectly symmetrical bar and two other rooms, each as packed with character as the last, and including a low-ceilinged lounge at the back.
Today Amsterdam faces more competition from bars inside the Old Town walls (it sits five minutes walk from the Old Town, just outside Vabaduse Square), although management does everything it can to keep its regulars happy and attract the party crowd, from employing friendly and welcoming staff to staging music events (there is a piano in the bar).
Come here for a quiet pint and a chat or just to enjoy the pretty stained-glass windows, the carved wooden bar and the characterful, ‘olde’ pub atmosphere.
