A famous meeting-place for foreigners and locals, Nimeta is one of the fixtures of the Suur-Karja pub strip. Enter through a modest façade to discover one of the longest pubs in Tallinn – a small bar in front leads through a long corridor to the main bar and a dance-floor. Roam on to find two more rooms before Nimeta finally peters out into a chill-out area at the back.
rnDuring the week Nimega is more relaxed, and makes a great place for a quiet drink. If you’re alone, prop up the bar for an hour or so and you are almost guaranteed to meet someone in this laid-back melting pot of ex-pats and travellers.
rnAt weekends Nimeta becomes a proper party venue, with a crowded disco that stays open until the early hours – for many locals it’s a lower-budget alternative to the big, expensive nightclubs. Decidedly seedy, but there is no better place to meet people and get talking.
