Located in the pretty 19th-century Kadriorg district 10 minutes’ drive from the Old Town, Poska Villa is an intimate hotel guesthouse with eight rooms, built next to a social club for the elderly (which owns the hotel, giving it a pleasant family feel).
rnLike its surrounding buildings, Poska is a lovely century-old clapperboard house renovated in the 1990s to provide clean and modern accommodation. With the air of a budget ski lodge, Poska’s rooms are small and simple, with pine furniture and pleasant views, although the décor is slightly tacky.
rnIt has regular guests from all over the planet, tending to attract visiting academics and professionals who come for longer periods than most tourists and therefore seek a cheaper, more homely option. It is also perfectly located for the beautiful Kadriorg Park and museums. Guests share a fridge (stocked with water and beer) on the landing.
