Hg2 : The Hedonist

Opened in 2000, this upturned Noah’s Ark of a restaurant still looks incredibly spick and span. An interior decorated (literally) like the inside of a boat contains a café bar on the lower deck and a smart restaurant on the upper. Both floors offer incredible views of Tallinn across the bay, and the windswept, ragged shoreline in between.
rnBuilt right next to the sea in remote but glamorous Viimsi 20 minutes outside Tallinn, Paat is a great summer location – with a huge terrace right next to the water when the sun is out. Marred slightly by its choice of musak, the atmosphere is nevertheless inviting and smart. Attractive blue-stained pine and rounded, sloping walls and windows create a nautical atmosphere that has a genuine feel. Tables are lit with genuine paraffin lamps.
rnSeafood and fish unsurprisingly top the menu, but there are also tasty-looking meat and vegetarian dishes cooked in British and French styles. The café bar offers a separate menu with all the same dishes plus a selection of light snacks – including soups, salads, omelettes, pastas and sandwiches.
