Hg2 : The Hedonist

The Dizingoff

The ‘mega-bar’, a slight variation upon the common club found in cities throughout the club, usually resides in the outskirts of Tel Aviv; in the Northern Port area, Along the Eastern boundary of Ibn Gvirol street, or down in the industrial realms of the city. The Dizingoff, which lies by the eponymous fountain that is often regarded as the dead center of the city, clearly breaks the mold. At over one thousand square meters in size, it is a gargantuan Hedonistic space, spanning three bars, an expansive dance-floor, lounge areas and a plush V.I.P room.

With an ownership team that includes a couple of local movie stars, hype for last year’s opening was immense, and the mega-bar has maintained its popularity among both locals and tourists. The décor is a bit too reminiscent of a dated New York City club, yet the aesthetic flop fails to trouble the multitudes waiting to be allowed in. Expect the crowd to be sharply dressed, and in their mid twenties to early thirties. The music features variations of mainstream electronica, with the occasional pop crossover. Find a list to be put on or reserve a table to avoid the ubiquitous queues.
