Bindella Osteria & Bar
As one of Switzerland’s most well-established family-run restaurant groups, with 40 restaurants and a thriving business selling olive oil, wine and grappa, Bindella certainly has culinary clout. And now it can add its first international outpost, Bindella Osteria & Bar in Tel Aviv, to the substantial portfolio.
If the business selling olive oil and wine didn’t tip you off, Bindella has a deep, abiding love of Italian ingredients and cuisine, which is not entirely surprising considering the Bindella family has roots stretching back to the rolling hills of Tuscany. Their motto is, after all, terra vite vita (“land, vineyards, life”). And, thus, it seems only right that the food at their Tel Aviv restaurant would be inspired by this classic Italian fare.
Through lunch and dinner, diners at Bindella Osteria & Bar can enjoy everything from Octopus Carpaccio and Vitello Tonnato (thinly sliced veal served with a tuna and caper sauce, rocket salad and croutons) to Goose Fettuccine (made with goose confit, root veg, porcini mushrooms and parmesan) and Sirloin alla Bindella. Alongside Chef Roy Soffer’s accomplished menu, there’s a drinks list befitting the Italian theme, with Aperol to start and Limoncello to end, and plenty of options in between.
The space itself mixes contemporary design elements and natural materials to create a sleek, almost vineyard-inspired dining room. Wine bottles climb the wood-panelled walls like grapevines and natural light floods the space through a metal trellis. There are three distinct dining areas in the long, narrow room, plus a space for al fresco dining.
