Located in a once-forgotten warehouse steps away from the docked vessels of the Jaffa port, the Container embodies the systematic facelift that has placed the neighborhood firmly on the right side of the tracks. True to its name, the venue spans several hundred square meters of post-industrial space. Exposed brick walls, snake-like air ducts and tables built upon wooden pallets pay tribute to this gentrifying cross-over.
The menu follows accordingly, offering enriched variations upon the traditional Mediterranean kitchen. Naturally, having the local fisherman community right at your doorstep is quite an advantage when specializing in sea food. The meals are prepared in a simple, light manner, allowing for the quality of the ingredients to be fully enjoyed.
In addition to the restaurant and bar, the establishment serves as a Gallery space and venue for both DJs and live music. As with the restaurant’s menu, the exhibitions and artist rosters change according to a single, golden principle: “offer only whatever is fresh and new.” Variations in electronic and world music will usually serve as the soundtrack to your dinner or cocktail. As to cocktails, We recommend the Campajito, a blend of Campari, Pastis 51, and a sprig of basil. Its bitter taste and Anise-tinged aroma is a perfect fit for the sea-drawn fair, and especially for a warm summer night in Yaffo.
