Viniculture fans in North Tel Aviv were offered a real treat when Bin 281 opened its doors for the first time this past year. Recognizing a rise in demand for quality in both wines and the shops that deal with the realm of spirits and alcohol, cousins Guy and Dor Goldman set out to erect a dedicated complex, offering every element needed for an exquisite wine-shopping experience.
The name, Bin 281 is derived from the Australian term for a specific storage area in a professional wine cellar. It is a reflection of the level in detail and knowledge set by the owners. The ground floor, which serves as the boutique area, offers an aesthetic dive into the world of wines. Bottles are displayed in wooden shelving the spans the shop walls, while special releases and sales are placed on oak barrels similar to those found in the traditional wine cellars.
The second floor serves as an intimate wine bar, featuring chef-curated pairings of wine with small dishes. The top floor, dominated by a central ‘knights’ table, serves as an events hall, as well as the setting for Bin 281’s occasional wine seminars and tasting sessions.
