Eating in Tignes may seem monotonous, where ham and cheese may be the making of every meal. For something different, go East and order a take-away sushi supper from Satsuki in Tignes Val Claret. Oriental food is hard to find away from the big cities in France, which makes a sushi bar on the slopes a welcome alternative. It’s not all raw fish and seaweed, either; there are vegetarian and grilled chicken alternatives, too. Wash it all down with a bottle of Japanese beer – reasonably priced at around E4 – or a large shot of sake rice wine.
