Crêpes à GoGo
Veronique Perez (aka GoGo) is a Parisian who is passionate about authenticity and adheres to the Brittany style: each crêpe is 40-centimetre in diameter, paper-thin and made with wheat-free batter. Presented in a paper bag and served cool or hot, simple or not, it’s a sophisticated treat to take-out or eat-in (the ambience in the shop is warm and inviting, even if the seating is limited).
The menu starts sensibly with lemon and sugar ($5) and escalates to bizarre but completely irresistible inventions like Big Ben (mozzarella and raspberry jam) or Veronique (brie, baby spinach, fresh strawberry and maple syrup). The smiles that come with the service here are warm and genuine, and GoGo herself inspires a regular Yorkville crowd of Euro wannabes who come in and brush up on their French.
