A vital artery of the Entertainment District, little Mercer Street has a lot going on. The hot hotel that is Le Germain, the mouthwatering Mexican food at Milagro, the comedy at Second City, the sushi at Ame, and, most recently, the club of choice for fashionistas and wannabes, Maison Mercer. Button-backed sofas and low-slung tables line the walls of a large space with a central bar, in which a 25+ crowd are dancing to top 40 and house tracks.
Corniced ceilings and chandeliers give it an element of Parisian townhouse chic, and waitresses are poured into waist-nipping bodices for a French-maid look. The rooftop patio is a huge draw, with a central core for non-bottle buyers to mill about in. The smug seated, lolling in their black cabanas, watch women getting their stilettos stuck in the patio decking.
