Hg2 : The Hedonist

Gardiner Museum

Housing 3,000 pieces, both historical and contemporary, the museum perfectly showcases how this universal art form -one of the oldest forms of culture – has evolved in shape and decoration over 11,000 years. In 1984, George and Helen Gardiner opened the museum to house their personal collection of ceramics.

It underwent expansion in 2003, emerging renewed in 2006 with critically-acclaimed Modernist architecture. Minimalist, with tall windows and multiple terraces, this buff limestone building is just as fascinating as its contents. The expanding permanent collection is also supported by special exhibitions.

Adult admission is $12 and guided tours are free with admission on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 2pm.
