Hockey Hall of Fame
A sprawling museum dedicated to the sport, it features everything a puckhead needs to know about the nation’s favourite sport, located in a lovely Beaux Arts former bank. The hall of fame itself is a series of shrines, with Tim Horton et al. immortalised.
There’s much ogling at jerseys and memorabilia, historical movies and footage of champion Wayne Gretsky aka ‘The Great One’, as well as mini ice-rinks in which to try your own slapshot skills. You can also get your photo taken with the Stanley Cup, a trophy the Toronto Maple Leafs haven’t got their mitts on since the 1966-7 season.
Be warned: the atmosphere escalates to frenzy inside the museum shop on the way out. The ticket admission is $15 for an adult (see City Pass).
