Set in an old stone hut right on the slopes, Cabane Illhorn is one of the must-eat restaurants in Val d’Anniviers. Just a snowball’s throw from the village at 2,147-metres, it’s biggest selling point is the terrace with views out over the surrounding peaks. The food served up on it isn’t extravagant, but rather simple fare cooked well. The hut – which has room for 40 diners inside – doubles as accommodation, with room for 32 weary heads.
