This is one of the most popular bars in Verbier and has probably not changed since it opened many decades ago: it is the perfect example of the advice “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. The Fer a Cheval works.

Whether it is having a coffee and people-watching during the day or squeezing in for an après ski drink, it fits the bill. It is situated on the main street, the Rue du Medran, and everyone seems to walk by, or in, after a day on the slopes. In the evening it turns into a restaurant serving tasty pizzas and other simple but good food.

There’s a mixed clientele and you are just as likely to see a local mountain guide as a banker from the City of London.
