A cosy little hotel bar, the
Rössli’s tucked away location makes it something of a local secret. A bijou,
welcoming space, the faded plaster, painted wooden beams and exposed stone
reveals the building’s 13th century provenance whilst the venerable
wooden bar looks like it could tell a tale or two.
Popular with Zürchers of all
ages, there is no scene here, just a great atmosphere and good drinks. For a
small bar, the Rössli is very, very well stocked, with an excellent selection
of whisky – everything from Auchentoshan to Macallan and all points in between
– some interesting wines by the glass, a few well-made cocktails and prosecco, perfectly accompanied by a
plate of delicious prosciutto, salami
Perfect for a mellow evening, this is the sort of place you pop
into for a pre-prandial drink and slip into a pleasurable time warp.
