Maison Blunt / Tea Room Blunt
It’s rare to find a Moroccan restaurant in Zürich, but Maison Blunt has been
packing them in for years. Formerly a car repair shop, Moroccan tiled floors
and walls, kelim covered chairs, and low metal tables with fresh flowers
transform the room into a little slice of North Africa.
Popular for lunch and
dinner, the Tea Room fills up early evening with a young, urban crowd catching
up over cocktails, wine or a cup of their delicious mint tea. On the menu are
excellent, authentic mezze: including
creamy baba ganoush, flavoursome hummus and crisp falafel, all served
with a delicious selection of breads.
Main courses range from tagines to couscous with sausage, lamb
or chicken, all well executed but not quite as ambrosial as the mezze. Later on the shisha pipes come
out, choose from mint, apple, honeymelon and more.
