One of Zürich’s most glamorous bar-cum-restaurants, Terrasse
is housed in a neoclassical rotunda on the bank of the Limmat river. High
ceilings, tall windows, impressive chandeliers and elegant columns are
complemented by understatedly stylish décor and an interesting smattering of
paintings, letting the dramatic architecture and views do all the talking.
perennial favourite with Zürchers of all stripes, lunchtime attracts local
financiers, whilst dinner draws in a mixed crowd ranging from elegant oldies to
pre-party scensters and weekend brunch is popular with young families.
kitchen produces top-notch Italian fare, a menu of classics like scaloppine di vitello and tonno alla griglia supplemented by a
short menu of seasonal dishes. Service is excellent, friendly and professional and
the atmosphere surprisingly informal for such a venerable building.
