Todd Obolsky harbours vast and voracious appetites, both gastronomic and geographic. He’s sampled puffin in Iceland (not recommended), sought out the elusive yellow kiwi (the fruit, that is) at Kiwi360 in New Zealand, crawled for pa amb tomaquet and cola de toro tapas (washed down with Jerez sherry) in Barcelona, and braved vicious crowds for the perfect Montreal smoked meat sandwich. When not in Miami, in-flight or on the road, New York is Todd’s home turf; its international micro-neighbourhoods impart the illusion of travelling while standing still. What makes him a hedonist? “A pressing need to discover what’s new and kick-ass ahead of the masses. And an obsession with food – especially sweets and anything pork-related – that belies my weight class.”
