Hg2 : The Hedonist

Abdi Ipekçi Caddesi

Abdi Ipekçi Street is the closest shopping street Istanbul has to Bond Street or Madison Avenue, though it’s a good dealer smaller, leafier and nicer than either of those streets.

This is where Turkey’s up-and-coming designers show off their stuff alongside the usual list of top international brands.

Arzu Kaprol – Paris-trained Turkish fashion designer, Arzu Kaprol has an international following with a flagship boutique on Abdi Ipekçi that showcases streamlined modernism with a lavish flair. With a penchant for mixing traditional Turkish decorative details and sleek contemporary pieces, a modern, eclectic vibe alluding to space-age meets Victorian ensues. The clothes are streamlined and clean – perfect pieces for transeasonal dressing.

Beymen – the newest and classiest branch of top Turkish department store, this upscale multi-label which was erected in the early 70s, carries the world’s most prominent roster of designers under one roof from Givenchy, Christian Dior, Karl Lagerfeld and Sonia Rykiel to Ralph Lauren. Aside from ladies apparel, home accessories, and cosmetics, children’s appaarel is also on offer.

Cassandra Shoes – fashionable shoes with flair.

Decorum – cool modern household objects from international designers and by new Turkish label, My Name is Eve.

Derin Design – custom-made sofas that can be delivered to anywhere in Europe within six weeks. The Derin Design team showcases an impeccable line of furniture that is streamlined and fresh.  Having designed the W Hotel in Akaretler, the Istanbul Culture Centre, and various offices and malls around the world, the team’s vibrant design aesthetic is showcased in this delightful location.

Nazan Pak and Ela Cindoruk – small and trendy jewellery boutique specialising in streamlined, modern jewelry with a refreshing, young aesthetic. Nazan and Ela showcase restrained luxury at its finest. Using semi-precious gemstones, pearls and diamonds, the pair’s clean designs are perfect day-to-evening travel pieces.
