Ace Hotel Shoreditch
The achingly hipster Ace Hotel brand has arrived in hipster central, Shoreditch. The lobby space has become the default workspace for ‘edgy’, fashion-conscious locals and in the evenings events, DJs and workshops bring more in by the score. Upstairs the rooms are kitted out like a New York apartment circa 1970 with each room having its own record player and selection of vinyl, guitars hanging from the walls, ‘minibar’ bottles lining the shelves and futon style beds. On the ground floor the Hoi Polloi restaurant does upscale comfort food in a designed space that isn’t as full as it should be, while in the basement the club promises queues of facial hair and tattoos winding out the side entrance. The Ace Hotel brand is very focused at the young urban hipster and guests should come prepared for a house party more than a relaxed night’s sleep.
