Rodrigo Toso, chef at the Agraz (see EAT), offers cooking classes at his Caesar Park Hotel base. As well as offering private tutorials, he will teach groups of up to 40 how to flash their pans. Rodrigo is widely regarded as one of the finest chefs in the city, and this Recoleta kitchen is easy to get to.
For an extravagant day’s cooking on the Tigre delta, it doesn’t get much better – or pricier – than this. Allow yourself to be picked up in a car, and driven to the docks where your group will board a 1945 wooden yacht (motor boat) formerly owned by five-times Formula One champion Juan Manuel Fangio.
You will then be taken to an island on the Tigre delta where you will learn how to cook Argentine beef the Argentine way, and chef up more complicated, gourmet dishes. It is also possible to be taken by helicopter – just ask Rodrigo to set it up. A group of twenty will cost US$3,500-5,500, depending on transport, and smaller groups are negotiable.
