Albert 1er is one of the few Chamonix restaurants to have snagged itself not one but two Michelin stars, and it’s hardly surprising with a gorgeous menu of gourmet food that champions French cuisine at its very best.
Chefs Pierre Carrier and Pierre Mallet use subtle flavours and stunning presentation to create a truly exceptional dining experience that captives even the most discerning diners. The menu itself is based around local ingredients and changes regularly to make the best of seasonal produce; dishes include lobster, foie gras ravioli, Aosta valley trout with bacon sauce, baby squid with tomato, pepper and basil, king crab tempura and rabbit with white Alba truffle.
For dessert, the chocolate mousse with salty caramel sauce would tempt even the strictest dieter to stray. And with a wine cellar containing more than 20,000 bottles, this is arguably the jewel in Chamonix’s culinary crown.
