Hg2 : The Hedonist

An Argentinian restaurant run by sisters Carmina and Pilat, who joyously kiss the regulars before thrusting margaritas into their hands and steaks on their plates. The bistro-style tables and chairs fill this old charcuterie, where everything has been left untouched since it first opened 20 years ago. Hidden behind the alarmingly derelict exterior is an old Art Deco ceiling, antique mirrors and cracked and crumbling white butcher’s shop tiles. An impressive supply of spirit bottles (whiskey and Havana Club) line shelves around the room, while black-and-white portraits of the two sisters hang from the wall. Mario Testino is rumoured to have taken them, unsurprisingly given that Anahi is a firm favourite among the famous and fashionable (don’t even try and blag a table during fashion week!). The menu is a haven for carnivores, from ribs and chicken to the house speciality, fabulous steaks specially flown in from Argentina.
