Typical of many Barcelona bars, Andu is narrow but long and extremely cosy. It’s a real “locals only” joint, in the sense that it’s fairly unknown amongst the tourist crowd so you’ll mix with true Catalans if you cross its threshold for a drink. The tapas are great, perfect for soaking up some of the alcohol as, true to form, Andu serves lethal drinks. Low lighting, lots of candles, an extremely cosy atmosphere and really friendly service makes this a wonderful place to find a corner and bunk down with some good cocktails, especially on a cold, winter evening. Andu is simple and authentic but if you want no frills and an escape from the pretension that can cling to some of the more high end bars in Barcelona, this is a must.
