Hg2 : The Hedonist

Having just walked out of the Alto Palermo shopping mall with three pairs of stilettos and two pairs of bottom-hugging Rapsodia jeans – delighted, as you are, to have squeezed into them, as Argentine girls seem to do with ease – you need a bite to eat.

A 6-minute walk away is Angelina, which, despite its low profile, serves some of the best ravioli in town. Popular with a mix of porteños and relaxed professionals, Angelina is set on the quiet, verdant end of Charcas street where few tourists tread, its tables spilling out onto the pavement.

The specials here are ‘lamb ragú demiglace with carrot and thyme ñoquis’ along with the ubiquitous steak sandwich, but the mushroom-stuffed ravioli never fail to deliver. Angelina gradually fills and refills throughout the day and is a haven for the heavy-laden.
