Arasta Bazaar

Built to help finance the Blue Mosque’s charitable projects, the Arasta Bazaar is a single alleyway of shops running alongside the mosque’s eastern wall. It houses some of the most respected merchants in Istanbul and also has the delightful advantage of having banned touting among its tenants. If you’re pressed for time and can’t do the Grand Bazaar properly (or can’t face it) then this petite shopping experience is a good, quick alternative.

Galeri Cengiz – run by business partners, both called Cengiz, who are among the most respected carpet dealers in the city.

Iznik Classics – high-quality, hand-painted ceramics, as well as reproductions of antique Iznik tiles.

Jennifer’s Hamam  – traditional hamam towels, hand-woven in cotton, linen, bamboo and silk, as well as laurel and rose oil soaps, scrubbing mitts and luxury robes.
